Me and my shadow

Ahh, if I had only brought my video camera to the playground tonight. Peyton discovered her shadow for the first time in the parking lot. Nobody was around so on the way to the car she was kind of wandering around, twirling, etc. as the sun was starting to make its descent. It took us a minute to figure out what she was doing, but we finally figured out she was chasing her shadow. It was too cute! She would walk really fast, stop, turn in a circle, go forward again, crouch down and try to grab it, and do it all over again. We love watching her make all her new discoveries!

Play House Fun

Peyton loved her friend's play house so much we had to get her one. She loves to close all the doors and windows and then open them up fast and say "hi". Daddy even lets her sit on the roof. We've come to realize she likes to be in little places of her own. Even when we were at the garden, she would find little nooks and crannies and just sit there. So, she is having a lot of fun with her own little house.

First Trip to the Botanical Garden

Sunday was Corporate Sponsor Appreciation Day @ Shaw's Garden (aka "get in free" day), so we took my mom and Peyton. Besides taking pix for a wedding, I hadn't been there in years. I forget how pretty it is. And, I had no idea they had such a cool kid's area. She still had fun, but I know in a few years Peyton will absolutely love it!

Bye bye, last piece of singledom.

I knew it was bound to happen, but it snuck up on me. I got rid of my two-door car that I bought the day before I started my first "real job" after college at A.G. Edwards, way back on April 3rd, 2000 (yes, I remember the date). So, we didn't stray too far - got rid of the two-door Accord for a four-door Accord - but it was still bittersweet. That car survived a lot of changes - my new job, new boyfriend, new apartment, new house, new husband and new baby (and a bachelorette party or two!).

I had to take a few last pictures. Here are my three babies (hah), or the two reasons I had to get rid of the two-door.
But, the grieving period was short, cuz MAN do I LOVE my new car!!!
Oh, and yes, Peyton knows where to put the key since Greg lets her ride up the driveway in the driver's seat. I can see the headlines now...
