Party pix are now posted ,dated May 8

Fun at the Carnival

Creve Coeur Days has arrived! Greg and Peyton went to the parade at noon. All of us went to the carnival later that afternoon. Peyton went on her first rollercoaster ride with Mommy and loved it. Braden went on his first carnival ride ever and had a blast. He just met the height requirement and Ashlyn was just a little too short. We saw our cousin, Kevin, who works at the fire department and he gave us lots of stickers and a fireman hat. Another fun day!

Water babies!

Gotta love this face, she opens her mouth so wide when she's excited

Things were so crazy last summer that we didn't get the babies into the pool. It was 90 degrees last week so we broke out the water table. Ashlyn and Braden LOVED it, even more so when Peyton got home to join them.

Happy 1st Birthday, Ashlyn and Braden!

It's hard being one

This is fun! Ice cream, where have you been all my life?

On their actual birthday, we went to Cold Stone Creamery for A & B's first taste of ice cream! Aunt Steph, Louis and Nana Judy came with us. At first Braden made funny faces because, we're assuming, of it being cold. But after a few bites they were crying if we didn't give it to them fast enough!

Ashlyn and Braden are ONE Year Old!

For some reason the "We did it!" song from Dora keeps running through my head. My littlest angels are one year old already! As everyone said it would be, the first six months were pretty much a blur. Then they finally figured out the sleep thing and have become such happy babies. We are enjoying watching them grow and start interacting with each other and Peyton. They just successfully made the transition from breastfeeding to cow's milk, a big milestone for all of us. We are so thankful for our family and friends who have helped us and are especially thankful that our once fragile babies are now healthy and thriving sweet-peas.

Braden is One Year Old!

My little baby who, a year ago we worried night and day about, is now a crazy active toddler. So now we have a new set of worries, but I guess that is never-ending. He's always climbing, practicing walking or getting into something. He loves to get on the fireplace and try to reach in (it's semi-covered with carpet right now). He also loves to take Peyton's foam chair, put it on it's side and either tip himself over or climb over it. He is very interested in toy cars and can get himself in the Cozy Coupe already. He is my little flirt and bats his long eyelashes and then buries his head when new people come around. Speaking of his eyes, in the past month they have decided to change colors. They still have blue but now also have a touch of hazel. We are seeing a lot of green and brown in there too, just like his daddy and my dad. Here's his stats (he's passed his sis up in weight again):

Height - 30.5 inches (50-75%)

Weight - 22 pounds 4 ounces (25-50%)

Head - 46.7 cm (50-75%)

Ashlyn is One Year Old!

Ashlyn has gone from a timid baby to a little firecracker. You will hear her if she is very happy, very upset or does not have something she wants. She is in a way taking over for Braden in that role. This past month she decided she now wants to crawl on her hands and knees full-time, as opposed to the army crawl. She is tired of Braden getting all the claps for his attempts at walking and now she is all about the push toys, cruising and walking around the house holding our hands. She is our dancer, as soon as we start singing or playing music, she starts moving back and forth. She is also very sensitive to everything. She sneezes outside, turns red all over when she's upset and turns purple/blue when she's cold. Here's her stats:

Height - 29 inches (50%)
Weight - 21 pounds 15 ounces (50-75%)
Head - 46 cm (75%)

Zoo with Lou!

the crew

Cousins! Ashlyn is kicked back, sleeping

Steph invited us to the zoo with her and her friend who has a 3 year old and 2 year old. They were also bringing his au pair, so I thought with all the adults we could swing it. So, off we went to the zoo! Peyton had fun riding in the stroller with Louis and seeing all the animals. Well, as many as we could see in 2 hours!. Braden and Ashlyn did great in the stroller with no official nap, and even each took a quick snooze, which hasn't happened post-pumpkins seats. It was an nice morning.

Mother's Day

Greg got up with Ashlyn and Braden and brought them to me to feed and then took them out to play. While I stayed in BED! Peyton brought me a bowl full of Cheerios. I eventually got up and we went to brunch at Nana Judy's. The kids had fun playing with their cousin, Louis, and we stuffed ourselves with good food. Greg had to go over to his NaNa Jean's early so I stayed so the kids could play and take naps. We blew bubbles in the front yard. Later we went to dinner at NaNa's. A great end to a great weekend.

Party Time, again!

We celebrated Ashlyn and Braden's birthday along with Peyton's with the family on the 7th. It was a perfect afternoon. The kids were able to play on the swingset and in the bounce house. They also had fun breaking open the pinata. We enjoyed Mexican food and cupcakes. The kids got a ton of cute clothes, some new balls and Elefun game. Ashlyn didn't like the cake as much this time and Braden really enjoyed it, the complete opposite of when we got their pictures taken! It was a fun day!

Variety Parade

Shriners making funny faces at the kids

The after party. Big coincidence because Peyton just saw Wizard of Oz for the first time the night before.

We walked with school in the Variety Parade on Saturday. Although there weren't very many spectators the kids had a great time and it was nice to hang out with some of the other parents. Afterwards we the had a few activities that included pony rides. Peyton got off the horse and told me, "hey mom". Yes Peyton? "I'm a cowgirl". Later she told Greg that she didn't like it because the pony didn't smell good. I guess it's a girl's prerogative to change her mind.
