Splash Park

The kids love the playgrounds that have the areas where water shoots up from the ground.  I like it since they can play in the water but not drown.  Here are some pix from Ashlyn and Braden's first visit.

leave it to Braden to find the one stick in the place.

Peyton's First Dentist Visit

Three years old is the time for kids to start getting checkups per our dentist (aka Grandpa).  Peyton did very well.  I had my checkup at the same time and I didn't hear one peep from her.  She even had to get a filling.  (I'm blaming it on her favorite snack - granola bars.)  If anything good came out of that, it was that now she is a bit more cooperative when we brush her teeth.

Dancing Queen

Ashlyn loves music and usually starts dancing as soon as she hears it. She used to bop up and down, then she added the sway back and forth and now she has added the hand wave. Here's a little snippit, I usually don't have the video camera around when I need it!

Fun with Spoons!

Here's our messy little ones practicing eating with spoons. Each time they are trying to dip it into their food more and more. They still prefer to use one hand while holding their utensil in the other hand!

Ashlyn Update

Ashlyn has been walking more and more each day. She is now able to make it from the love seat to the sofa in our family room. It's still so surprising to me to see her playing and then she just starts taking off like it ain't no thing.

She's been pretty miserable this past week with teething. Considering the doctor told me back at their one year checkup that her gums were very swollen, I'm really hoping these molars pop through soon. I'd forgotten what a process it is. Poor baby!

Father's Day!

We had a nice and quiet Father's Day. We ended up having nowhere we needed to go, so we decided to head up to the mall. The kids had a blast playing in the kid's area. On the way home we hit the carousel at Faust Park, since the one at the mall was closed. Ashlyn wasn't so sure about it, but I think it's because she saw her Daddy sitting in front of her and wanted him. We ate lunch at a new burger joint by our house. All three kiddos were dancing in their chairs the whole time to the music playing. It was too funny! Mom came over at dinner time and sat with the kids while Greg and I went to Huhot for the first time. It was so yummy and we found out that kids 3 and under eat for free. We'll have to return! We finished up the evening with a movie at home.

Peyton made her Dad a present at school. It was "Dad in the eyes of Peyton". It was a bunch of statements the teacher read to them and they had to finish the sentence. He has it at work now so I will go off memory. Some highlights were:

"My dad is: 3 years old and 2 feet tall.

He weighs: 10 pounds.

He relaxes by: sitting.
He likes it when: I listen.

He likes to: drink. (I asked her what and she said coffee)

At the store he buys: crackers and cheese and cherries and some salami.

He has:black hair and green eyes (pretty close!)

He tells me: NO!

My swimmer!

Peyton took swim lessons at the Y for the first time. She was the youngest in the class but it didn't phase her. She had a smile on her face from the moment we entered our first class. It was so fun to watch. We just got her progress report and it said "Peyton was by far my most enjoyable student. She always had a smile and was confident and happy." Hearing that kind of stuff never gets old. :-)

Give me 3 steps, give me 3 steps, baby!

Ashlyn's interest in walking has slowly been growing. She took three steps today! She is getting braver by the day.

Lazy Weekend

My girls in a rarity - matching outfits. Ashlyn and Braden spend a lot of time each day playing with this car. They get in, they get out, they get in, they get out, they get in, Braden pushes Ashlyn out, etc. etc. etc.
