Ashlyn is 8 Months Old!
What a big girl she is becoming! Ashlyn is becoming a mover and a shaker as well (that's for you, Sue). She can make her way across the room either by rolling or scooting on her belly. She gets up on all fours and pushes backwards. She is my talker out of the two and I love when she gets done eating and looks up at me and makes little sweet noises. She has both of her bottom teeth now and is still gnawing on everything she can get her hands on. She is a good eater but is not as big of a fan of the lumpy foods as her brother is. She spits out the noodles of her macaroni! She is taking three naps and usually falls asleep whenever we are in the car. She has had a bad cold in the past few weeks and started wheezing, so after getting permission from the doctor we gave her a few albuterol breathing treatments last week. She is getting much better. She and her brother love to look at each other and laugh. She lights up the second her daddy walks in the room and anytime we sing I'm a little teapot or Patty Cake.
Braden is 8 Months Old!
This month has been another exciting one! Braden is really starting to move around on his belly. In the past week or so he has gotten pretty good at getting up on all fours and now rocks back and forth. He can go backwards but I have only seen him go forward one time. It's gotten to the point that I make sure to completely close the basement door if I have to go down since I'm afraid one of the kids will roll over to the stairs! He loves to clap his hands and is talking a bit more. Still taking 3 naps a day when we can. Unfortunately his third nap needs to take place when I usually pick up Miss P, and since he won't sleep in the car he usually misses it. He had a pretty nasty cold for about a week but is back to being his happy self again. I took him to the doctor last week since I thought he had an ear infection (negative) and he is over 19 pounds. Almost out of the pumpkin seats! We are trying out lumpier (stage 3) food and so far he loves macaroni and cheese.

Braden's New Trick
Braden started clapping his hands a couple days ago and each day since he does it more and more. He gets the biggest grin on his face. Too much fun!

Happy Birthday, Greg!
The grown-ups' birthdays around here are definitely a lot more low key nowadays. Greg played soccer in the morning in the freezing cold. The kids made a card for their dad with their handprints on it and we had ice cream cake with NaNa Jean after dinner. Yum! Side note, Peyton told Greg Friday night that she had made a birthday card for him and she told him after he got home from soccer that she was going to go get a cake for him. Doesn't quite get the "secret" idea yet!

Happy New Year!

We took the kids to our friends, Kyle and Rachel's, house for New Years Eve. Ashlyn and Braden went to bed around 7 and each only woke up one other time. Peyton and the rest of the kids stayed up all night! They had so much fun running around together and kept each other occupied so the adults could catch up. We were so excited to hear that Rory and Megan got engaged and are looking forward to traveling for their wedding. We also enjoyed the new addition to our crew, baby Nathan. I don't realize how big my babies are getting until I see a newborn!
