Easter Bunny!

We went to an Easter egg hunt at a local church and the kids got to sit on the Easter bunny's lap for the first time.  Well, Peyton sat on his lap!  Ashlyn and Braden liked him from afar.

In case there was any question...

Peyton likes to dress herself now, which includes picking out her own clothes.  If they are clean, she would wear this tutu and her knee socks, or as she calls them "leggings" every day.

Dress-up Time!

The kids love to dress up in their princess outfits.  Peyton leads the parade through the house for their fashion show.  I'm really hoping to get Braden some other outfits for his birthday, although he doesn't seem to mind dressing up like a princess.

Getting Crafty and other Inside Fun

Thanks to friends for a lot of the ideas, I have attempted to do some craft and other activities with the kids.  Ashlyn and Braden have mainly enjoyed eating anything they can, but I finally let them paint with actual paint recently and they did pretty well.  Here are some of our activities this past winter.

A friend saw this on Pinterest, except they did animals.  Still haven't figured out how to make animals but this makes us happy.

It was too cold to play in the snow one day so we brought it inside.  The kids didn't like to sit in the tub with it but loved to play with it leaning over the tub.

What happens to our hair if we take a bath right before our nap.

Ring around the rosey!

P loves to play school  Here is another circle time.

Nap time at school  Wish A & B listened to me like they do their big sis.  :-)

Very popular at our house - vacuuming!  Our carpet has never been so clean.

P's first bike!

Our friends generously handed down a perfect Barbie bike to Peyton.  It was perfect timing since we had wanted to get one for her fourth birthday.  Well, Greg couldn't wait until her birthday to give it to her.  She literally shrieked when she saw it.  It took her a few trys to get comfortable but now she's getting pretty good at it.  On our first walk she was going pretty fast down the hill and it was part humorous and part terrifying trying to tell her how to brake.  A good thing is that she likes to wear her helmet.  Now Braden and Ashlyn get to officially take over the tricycle!

Future Pop Star

I had never realized that Peyton payed much attention to the radio until one day I heard her quietly singing along to Taylor Swift's "Mean" in the car.  After that and the time she started asking questions about what the DJ's were saying, we started listening to kid's CDs a lot more!  She had really liked that song, though.  I taped the Grammy's and saw that she performed it, so I showed it to Peyton.  Was I surprised when Ashlyn and Braden stopped what they were doing and stared at the TV.  Braden kept pointing to the TV and looking at me.  I guess they know the song, too!  So, now I have to keep that 3.5 hour program on my DVR so they can watch it from time to time.  Peyton sings it all the time now.  Her teacher wrote on her My Day last week that she sang  it to them at school.  She performed it today as well, very loudly I might add!  Of course my memory card was full so I only got a part of it.   (Note that Taylor did the same arm move at the Grammys that Peyton did at the end of this LOL.)   I guess we know now what we're getting her for her birthday!

Nursing Miss Ashlyn

Ashlyn continues to have breathing problems whenever she gets sick.  She got another cold two weeks after her second trip to the ER for croup, and since I had to take P in anyway, I went ahead and took Ashlyn into the doctor even though she only had a runny nose for one day.  The doctor heard wheezing already.  She prescribed another drug to be given via the nebulizer at the first sign of a cold and it's supposed to lessen the likelihood for her to get stridor.  So far so good!  She sits very patiently during the 10 or so minutes it takes and Braden loves to hold the mask.  Here's a pic I tried to take of that while she was on my lap and one from right before nap time so she fell asleep during it.  :-)
