Happy Halloween!

Peyton had a great Halloween! Friday they had a parade at school and she got lots of goodies. Friday night we carved her pumpkin and she played in the goo for the first time. She wasn't too impressed with that whole experience. Saturday we were planning on hitting a few of our neighbors early to show off her costume and then go down to another neighbors to have chili and hang out. But, H1N1 ended up visiting them. So, some other neighbors who have two kids that go to P's school - one just older and one just younger, called and asked if we wanted to go trick-or-treating. We were a bit hesitant since Peyton didn't want her costume on earlier in the day and she's so little, but she put it on so we headed over with the wagon. After the first house we were so surprised - Peyton was an old pro! She followed Mitchell up to every door, helped knock, waited patiently, put her candy in her bag and moved on to the next house. We were joking that the kids were probably wondering why this didn't happen on all of our walks! We could not believe how much fun she had. We got home early enough to hand out candy for most of the kids and let Peyton have a package of sweethearts - yum! It took some time but I finally convinced her that the candy for the other kids was not hers (she kept grabbing it and saying "Mine!"). We all had a blast and are thankful for our great neighbors. Now, if she would have only slept until 7 instead of 6 it would have been a perfect weekend. When do kids understand the time change? :-)

She looks so cute as a little pumpkin!! I'm glad she got into the trick or treating!
I LOVE the time change. Both kids in bed and asleep by 6:30 last night (it felt like 7:30 to them). I had an entire evening to myself!!
