How long do these things take?

I'm just going to vent a little. At P's one-year checkup the doc said her molars were ready to pop through. Well that was 5+ weeks ago and still nothing. Everyone that sees her gums comments on how swollen they are. For about a week now one side has been purple! We were a little worried but when daycare called me at work to ask me if I'd noticed it I became even more worried (you'd think they have seen everything). But, the doctor said that it is very likely the gums could bruise because the molars are so big and we just need to watch for infections. She did say that she was surprised they weren't in already. So, it's just a waiting game, I guess. We've only had about 8 sleepless nights in the past month, so I guess we should be thankful she is taking this all so well.
