My first trip to the Zoo!

Friday we decided to go to the zoo. Knowing that it would be 100 degrees that day and that some exhibits were free the first hour it was open, we got there right at 8am (plus we got a great parking spot on the road so we didn't have to pay the $11 for parking!). We went to the Children's Zoo, saw the gorillas and monkeys and cooled off in the Penguin house. She got most excited by the couple of birds walking around, one was a turkey but I'm not sure what the other was, and the Zebra. Neither Greg nor I had been to the zoo in over 10 years, so we all enjoyed it. Luckily most of the paths were shaded by trees, so although it was quite warm it was definitely not miserable. We had all had it by 10 and when we left, lots of people were walking in - now they were going to be hot!
